By popular request: Soft Paws now available in pastel blue

For those of you who are unfamiliar with them, Soft Paws are vinyl nail caps that are glued on to your cat's existing nails as an alternative to de-clawing. Think about acrylic nails you can get at the nail salon: they make your nails a little thicker and therefore less "scratchy" - Soft Paws are the same concept, only for cats and dogs. It's a brilliant option for indoor cats - inexpensive, safe, humane and you can have a bit of fun expressing your pet's personality with the different colors!

Routine de-clawing is unique to America; in many countries, de-clawing is considered inhumane and has been outlawed, calling it "unnecessary mutilation" as it is extreme surgery requiring the amputation of a cat's first joint on each toe. Unfortunately too many people in the US consider appropriately managing a cat's natural tendency to scratch an inconvenience, and often make the decision to de-claw their cat without fully understanding the procedure or considering more humane alternatives.

There are many great resources on the web to get educated about cat scratching, de-clawing and alternatives to this drastic approach. Explore your options and you'll find a number of ways you can manage Fluffy's scratching needs without resorting to expensive and unnecessary surgery - a fun cat manicure is just one of them!
